Synopsis: Prison Brides follows seven women from around the world who believe they have found their soulmates in the most unexpected of places, American prisons. While they started off as prison pen pals, these women fell hard and found themselves willing to risk it all for love. The docuseries follows the women as they travel from their homes—many visiting the United States for the first time—to meet their prisoner fiancés, husbands, or partners, to chart their futures together. With the couples facing harsh judgment from friends, family and strangers, the brides grapple with uncertainty and their ultimate decision to risk it all for true love. Women from across the globe find love inside American prisons. In Germany, Svea prepares to meet her boyfriend, Joseph, for the very first time, despite her mother’s reluctance. Single mom, Erin, leaves Australia behind and waits for her incarcerated boyfriend, Michael, to be released from an Ohio prison. In the UK, Emma surprises her family with news of her imminent US prison wedding to fiancé Curtis.
1-02 Proposal On Parole--
Andreea, a Romanian student based in London, is set to marry Cage who is serving 50 years in a Texas penitentiary. But will her prison wedding go off as planned? Quickly following his release, Michael decides to propose to Erin with the ring she unknowingly brought from Australia. After some time back in Germany, Svea returns to America for Joseph’s release but is alarmed by his future living arrangements.
