Report: Apple TV+ Cancels ‘Central Park' After Three Seasons

Josh Gad, the co-creator of the animated Apple TV+ series Central Park, revealed on social media this weekend that the show will not be picked up for a fourth season.

Gad, who also played the voice of Birdie, was asked by a fan on Threads if the show was returning. He briefly answered "Sadly, it's done."

The series ran for three seasons with a total of 39 episodes.

Central Park was co-created by Gad, Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith and premiered in May 2020. The show’s voice cast included Kristen Bell, Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs, Josh Gad, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Stanley Tucci and Emmy Raver-Lampman.

There was some controversy during the first season from some viewers who were unhappy that Bell has been cast to voice the mixed-race character Molly Tillerman.

Bell was replaced by Raver-Lampman for seasons two and three. Bell returned to the series in season three to voice Paige's little sister Abby.

Central Park centered around the Tillerman-Hunter family through the eyes of busker narrator Birdie. The lives of the characters change when an elderly heiress named Bitsy Brandenham plots to buy up all the land in Central Park and develop it with condos, stores and restaurants. The Tillermans must also deal with their issues and save the park.
