Netflix Unveils 2025 India Content Slate

In an event held Monday in Mumbai, Netflix unveiled more details on its 2025 original content slate for India. 

The streamer is set to release six feature films, 14 series and five unscripted titles this year, which is a drop from previous years. Part of that decrease is due to Netflix's expanded content licensing deals in India, although company executives also note that while the streamer might be releasing fewer projects overall, the budgets for the upcoming slate more than offset the difference.

One of the successes for Netflix globally has been with true crime stories and documentaries based in the region and there are several more projects on the way in 2025.

“Mandala Murders weaves mystical undertones into a gripping mystery, while Dabba Cartel is an intense thriller that reimagines power and agency from a whole new perspective," said Monika Shergill, Netflix’s VP of content in India. "Glory immerses us in a family’s fierce pursuit of an Olympic medal, where emotional tension and ambition drive the drama."
