NBUC International Streamer Hayu Orders 'The Real Housewives Of London'

The NBCU-owned international reality television streamer Hayu has ordered its first original, a brand extension of the Real Housewives reality franchise.

The Real Housewives Of London was announced at Saturday's first-ever Hayu FanFest, which was held in London.

Previous international iterations of the Real Housewives franchise include Athens, Durban, Warsaw, Vancouver, Melbourne, Budapest, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Rome, Lagos, Dubai, Munich and more. The longest-running international version has been The Real Housewives Of Cheshire, which has aired for 17 seasons.

"Tonight’s announcement of The Real Housewives of London is Hayu’s first-ever commission of an original series and yet another key milestone in the growth story of our all-reality streaming service," said Hendrik McDermott, managing director EMEA networks, Hayu & international direct-to-consumer at NBCUniversal. "It makes sense that such an iconic location in the U.K. – a core Hayu market – would feature into our strategy to further amplify our offering with original content that super-serves loyal fans. We look forward to being the exclusive home of this latest installment in the wildly popular The Real Housewives franchise.”

“Hayu is the ideal destination for this well-loved reality series and will give audiences direct access to all the drama of this new set of British housewives," added Helen Kruger Bratt, managing director of production firm Monkey. "This is the 30th international iteration of the iconic  Housewives format, and it’s safe to say, the audience will not be disappointed!”

Casting is currently underway for The Real Housewives Of London, with start of production eyed for Q1 2025.
