1-01 Casino Royale: Battle 1--01/04/2022
In this first preliminary battle of Chopped’s Casino Royale, something slithery is in the original basket. Is ditching it for something new a smart idea? A thematically appropriate basket item in Round Two isn’t a big hit with the chefs. Will they try to gamble it away? And then when a chef runs into some bad luck in Round Three, he doesn’t seem phased. But will his bold moves with the ice cream machine work in his favor and result in good flavor? The winner moves on to the tournament’s finale!
1-02 Casino Royale: Battle 2--01/11/2022
Risky business! As if Chopped weren’t enough of a crapshoot, in this tournament, the chefs get to gamble for a chance to replace a basket ingredient with a luckier one before they cook. Of course, they could end up with an unlucky new ingredient instead! In this second battle, the fish offal in the first basket is just begging to be gambled away. Will everyone make that choice? All of the chefs who make it to Round Two have a different least favorite basket ingredient. Will they be fortunate enough to score replacement ingredients that they love? And then in Round Three, more gambling leads to serious drama. The winner of this preliminary battle advances to the finale, where $25,000 – or more! – will be at stake.
1-03 Casino Royale: Battle 3--01/18/2022
Roll the dice and change your fate! The chefs have more control than ever in Chopped’s Casino Royale. They can gamble to get lucky or unlucky replacement basket ingredients! In this third preliminary battle of a five-part tournament, the chefs open up the appetizer basket to find a notoriously challenging (and arguably disgusting) ingredient. Will everyone opt to swap it out? In Round Two, the chefs are second guessing their choices when they get into the round and have bad luck with an ingredient they probably should have gambled away. Then the two chefs who make it to the final round both decide to take their chances by baking something. Will either of them produce amazing desserts? The winner of this battle scores a seat in the Casino Royale finale!
1-04 Casino Royale: Battle 4--01/25/2022
Gamble or stick with what you’ve been dealt?! In the fourth battle of Chopped’s Casino Royale tournament, chefs, once again, get to try their luck at replacement basket ingredients, if they dare. When nobody decides to ditch a strange pizza in the appetizer basket, only time will tell if that was a wise move. Before the entrée round, a roll of the dice gives one chef two proteins that he must cook. Is there enough time for that? An interesting gamble and some uncooperative puffed pastry keep things exciting in the final round. And the judges face a difficult decision in selecting the chef who deserves to move on to the finale.
