Schibsted Acquires 10.1% Viaplay Stake (Advanced-Television)
Norway-based Schibsted, a family of digital brands, has informed the Oslo Stock Exchange that it now owns a minority stake of 10.1  per cent in Viaplay Group. Streaming and media company Viaplay has more than 45 brands operating in 30+ markets, primarily in the Nordics.

Research from entertainment technologist TiVo for IBC 2023 reveals that almost half of all UK consumers have not reduced their video spending as a result of increases in the cost of living. On average, UK consumers subscribe to six paid video content sources, with an average monthly bill of £78.06 (€90.71).

Rai in Italy has ordered a comedy entertainment show that uses AI to create unpredictable scenarios within the format. Fake Show – Diffidate Delle Imitazioni is from Banijay’s Endemol Shine Italy and sees celebrities showcasing their improv skills, impersonating characters, dialects, objects, sounds and their fellow showbiz counterparts.

New TV Channel To launch On Saudi National Day (Arab News)
A new national TV channel, ‘Saudia Alaan,’ will launch to commemorate the 93rd Saudi National Day, which falls on Sept. 23.  The channel, under the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA), will serve as the official platform that broadcasts the Kingdom’s official events and entertainment activities, said the Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari.

Sesame Street Coming To Amazon Kids+ (Advanced-Television)
Recent seasons of iconic children’s series Sesame Street are set to debut on Amazon Kids+. Children in the UK will laugh and learn with eight of the latest seasons of Sesame Street, totalling 280 episodes, produced by nonprofit media and education organisation Sesame Workshop.
