Mary Berry is headed back to television with a new six-part BBC2 series entitled Mary Berry: Love To Cook. Her most recent series was Mary Berry Simple Comforts, which aired on BB2 last September.
In each episode of Love To Cook, Berry will speak to cooking beginners and celebrate heart-warming classics. She will be "inspiring the UK to fall in love with cooking, growing and producing food." An accompanying book of the same name will be published by BBC Books.
The series was ordered by Catherine Catton, BBC head of commissioning. It will be executive produced by Karen Ross and Martha Delap.
"Mary’s understanding of food and cooking outshines everyone and her desire to pass on decades of experience in a plate of mouth-watering food is a joy to watch," said Ross in a statement.
While Berry is primarily known in the U.S. for her role as a judge on The Great British Baking Show, she is a television icon in the U.K., where she has been a regular presence on television since a 1971 appearance on the series Farmhouse Kitchen.
Some of her UK shows include Mary Berry At Home (1997), The Great Comic Relief Bake-Off (2013), Mary Berry Cooks (2014), Mary Berry's Absolute Favorites (2015), Mary Berry's Foolproof Kitchen (2016), The Great Holiday Baking Show (2015-2017), Mary Berry Everyday (2017), Mary Berry's Country House Secrets (2017), Classic Mary Berry (2018), Mary Berry's Quick Cooking (2019) and Celebrity Best Home Cook (2021)
