Korea’s CJ ENM has ordered a second season commission to Couple Palace, which premiered on CJ ENM’s affiliate music channel Mnet in January.
The show stars fifty men and fifty women who share their detailed social status and family backgrounds in hopes of finding an ideal partner based on qualities such as ideal marriage values, physical appearance, economic status, and lifestyle.
Couple Palace was developed by producers Lee Sun-young and Jeong Min-seok, known for their global hit formats I Can See Your Voice (which was adapted by Fox in the United States) and Love Catcher.
“The sequel commission of ‘Couple Palace’ clearly demonstrates the fact that the show’s candid, yet profound portrayal of relationship dynamics associated with marriage has resonated with audiences from different circumstances and environments," said Sebastian Kim, director of CJ ENM’s international content sales. "We sincerely believe the show can further entice global fans’ interests once it is localized in multiple regions."
