Hulu and Annapurna Pictures today announced a huge output licensing agreement that will grant Hulu the pay-one window streaming rights to films released by the film producer and distributor.
Annapurna Pictures is the production company behind well known films such as "Zero Dark Thirty," "American Hustle," "Her," and "Sausage Party." To date, the company’s films have amassed thirty-two Academy Award nominations.
Under the new agreement, all of Annapurna’s future films will be streamed exclusively on Hulu after their theatrical release. The first film under the deal is the new Kathyrn Bigelow film "Untitled Detroit Project," which will hit Hulu on August 4th, 2017.
"We are thrilled to have found a forward-thinking partner and home for Annapurna’s films in Hulu," said Annapurna President of Distribution Erik Lomis. "[We] are excited that the work of our filmmakers will be available and easily accessible for audiences on this amazing platform."
