Streaming television service Sling has added some new channels to its tiers, effective today.
In September, Sling added the Starz and Encore channels as a $9 per month add-on programming tier. Subscribers to the add-on package also had access to about 1,200 titles in an on-demand offering. Sling is now adding four additional channels to the add-on tier, while the cost will remain at $9 for all subscribers. The channels being added are Starz Kids & Family, Starz Edge, Starz Comedy and Starz West.
Sling is also adding a selection of movies from the independent film-oriented SVOD service Fandor. The Fandor Festival channel will be part of the $5 per month Hollywood Extra programming tier and it will feature more than 300 on-demand films to Sling Orange and Sling Blue subscribers. All Sling subscribers will receive free access to five different movies each month, regardless of which programming tier they choose.
