If you love hockey, mysteries or family-friendly holiday programming, you’re in luck – Sling TV just added NHL Network, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries to its lineup. Both networks have been added to Sling's "Lifestyle Plus Extra" programming tier, which costs $5 per month.
Additionally, customers in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Raleigh-Durham, Fresno-Visalia or San Francisco who subscribe to both Sling Orange and Sling Blue services will receive access to the Broadcast Extra programming tier at no additional cost. Despite the name, it's really just ABC, Univision and UniMás. But that tier normally costs $5 per month, so it's a nice free add-on for current customers in those cities.
The Fox and NBC broadcast stations are available in some markets (the cities where there is a network owned-and-operated affiliate). So if you live in a major market and subscribe to both Sling Orange and Sling Blue, you'll get three of the top four broadcast networks, along with all of Sling's cable offerings.
Sling TV has also added NHL Network to its "Sports Extra" pack for Sling Orange and Sling Blue customers. Current Sling Orange customers can add Sports Extra to their core service for $5 more per month, and Sling Blue customers can add Sports Extra to their core service for $10 more per month.
Currently, the Sling Blue service costs $20 per month, the Sling Blue service costs $25 per month and both Blue and Orange are available for $40 per month.
