TCA Board Statement On The Los Angeles Times And Walt Disney Co.

What follows is an official statement from the Television Critics Association's executive board and TCA President Daniel J. Fienberg.

Citing what it called unfair coverage of its business ties with Anaheim, Walt Disney Co. has declined to offer the Los Angeles Times advance screening access to Disney-related properties.

The Television Critics Association board states, "The Television Critics Association understands that screeners and coverage opportunities are a privilege and not a right, but we condemn any circumstance in which a company takes punitive action against journalists for doing their jobs."
