I Am Second, a storytelling movement inspiring individuals to live second to God and others, announced today via Facebook Live its newest White Chair Film featuring Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of HGTV's "Fixer Upper," owners of the Magnolia Market, and authors of the new book, "The Magnolia Story."
The film, which premieres Oct. 18 on IAmSecond.com, came about after I Am Second sent a tweet last November and asked its followers to retweet and see if it would get the attention of the Gaines. Within two minutes, the tweet had received an overwhelming response before garnering a simple response from Chip, who wrote, "If I retweet does it count as getting my attention?" That tweet set in motion the opportunity for I Am Second to capture the Gaines' story.
"Chip and Joanna are exactly who you think they are. They are genuine people," said Jon Seidl, I Am Second editor-in-chief, during the Facebook Live announcement. "You are used to seeing from I Am Second a lot of films that show people hitting their deepest, darkest moment and then coming out of it through a reliance on their faith. You're not going to see that in this film. I'm not going to ruin it ... but you are going to see how and why their marriage has thrived and how they have come to have a connection that is respectful, fun and yet celebrates their differences and how they honor God through that."
Featuring Chip and Joanna speaking separately before joining together, this is the first film in White Chair Film Series history where guests sit side-by-side in two of I Am Second's iconic white chairs.
In a culture where differences often break apart marriages, the Gaines' story as told through I Am Second proves differences aren't always bad. The full film will release on Oct. 18. For more information, visit http://www.iamsecond.com.
