Former 'Apprentice' Contestant Sues Trump For Defamation

Feminist lawyer Gloria Allred announced today that her client Summer Zervos is suing Donald Trump for defamation related to sexual assault allegations.

Zervos, a former "Apprentice" contestant, claimed during the 2016 election campaign that Trump groped her and tried to have sex with her during a job interview several years after her appearance on the reality TV show. The lawsuit alleges that Trump used his platform to falsely denigrate Zervos and other women accusing him of "unwanted sexual touching."

According to the Daily Caller, if the action proceeds it may not be resolved until Trump leaves the White House, as the president typically enjoys immunity from civil actions and outstanding civil suits are generally delayed until after he leaves office.
