ABC announced on Tuesday that it had cut the episode order for its Thursday night drama "Notorious" from 13 to 10 episodes, a move which essentially means the struggling series is being canceled. While there is no official word of a cancellation, no show that had its order cut in 2015-16 was renewed for a second season.
The show about the relationship between a TV news producer (Piper Perabo) and an attorney (Daniel Sunjata) debuted to a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 and has been below 1.0 in each of the past three weeks. Even worse, the show has lost more than half of its lead-in audience from “Grey’s Anatomy.”
The show airs in the timeslot normally filled by "Scandal," which had its season pushed back to accommodate series star Kerry Washington's pregnancy. There's no word yet on what will air in the timeslot until "Scandal" returns sometime in early 2017.
