Five Best Lines: 'The Goldbergs' - 03/18/2014

The Goldbergs
From wearing the same shoes to always eating a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast, Murray is a creature of habit in and around the house. When Beverly changes his favorite easy chair with something new and “better,” he flips out. So he repays the favor to Beverly by removing the oven in the kitchen so she can cook food in the “better” microwave. Soon, it becomes a heated game of back and forth between the couple as more things around the house get changed. Will they reach a breaking point and get their lives back to "normal?" Meanwhile, Adam is being bullied on the school bus by eighth grader JC Spink and looks to Barry to come to his rescue.

The episode,  entitled "For Your Own Good, was written by Niki Schwartz-Wright.

Here are the five best lines from the episode:

"That's my big brother Barry. He's clinically insane. The doctor's gave up on him. He's too crazy for their modern medicine."

--Adam Goldberg (Sean Giambrone) explains his older brother Barry to the school bus bully.

"The dude on TV said my football phone would be here in eight weeks. It's been ten. What am I supposed to do, huh? Make phone call on a phone-shaped phone like some animal?"

--Barry Goldberg (Troy Gentile) is a bit too excited about the prospect of the arrival of the Sports Illustrated football phone.

"Listen, bro. You are literally the most annoying un-athletic, four-eyed, almost girl-like dork I've ever met. But you're my brother. And no one beats you up but me."

--Barry's not-quite-touching reason he's decided to help save his brother from a bully.

"That's right. The three amigos...they're dining al fresco."

--Murray Goldberg's (Jeff Garlin) fancy way of letting his wife know he's "going commando"

"I don't want to hear about some imaginary layer in the sky. I'm leading a PTA meeting in 30 minutes and I need to command respect with my giant hair."

--Beverly Goldberg (Wendi McLendon-Covey) opts for her hairspray over any potential problems with the ozone.
