TBS has ordered a full season of Go-Big Show, an hour-long extreme talent competition starring celebrity judges Snoop Dogg, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles and “The American Nightmare” Cody, and hosted by popular comedian Bert Kreischer. The show’s pick-up was announced by the host and judges this evening from the set in Macon, GA and broadcast simultaneously across TBS, TNT and truTV, marking the three networks’ inaugural roadblock announcement.
Go-Big Show showcases supersized talents on a scale never before seen on television. Featuring monster trucks, alligator trainers, stunt archery and other radical feats, the program celebrates daring acts alongside personal, behind-the-scenes stories from the challengers as they battle head-to-head to impress the judges and advance toward the finale’s ultimate $100,000 prize.
Go-Big Show has begun production on 10 episodes at the Macon Coliseum, where contenders and staff are operating under strict Covid-19 safety protocols and isolating together for the duration of production. TBS is producing this series in consultation with local authorities, the unions and medical experts. The network’s first priority is the health and safety of employees, production partners, cast and crew.
While the 7,000 seats within the arena will remain empty during tapings, the show’s lively indoor festivities will extend outdoors to TV’s first-ever, interactive drive-in audience. Spectators will cheer for their favorite competitors in real time during a socially-distanced tailgate party just outside the venue which follows Macon-Bibb County Commission’s Covid-safety mandates.
"Go-Big Show celebrates unique, untraditional and unforgettable American talent,” said Corie Henson, EVP and head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT and truTV. “Each contestant brings tremendous heart and swagger, which also perfectly describes Bert and our judges, a dream team of larger-than-life talent.”
"We are going bigger and bolder with our unscripted line-up at TBS to provide more of the content that viewers love from our platform,” said Brett Weitz, General Manager, TNT, TBS and truTV. “Go-Big Show not only delivers on this promise with a thrilling new take on talent competition, but it’s also another example of our innovative spirit as we continue to create brand-defining, must-watch television.”
Debuting on TBS in 2021, Go-Big Show is produced by Propagate and Matador Content, a Boatrocker Company. The series is executive produced by Todd Lubin and Jay Peterson of Matador Content; Howard T. Owens, Ben Silverman, and Greg Lipstone of Propagate Content; showrunner Conrad Green; Bert Kreischer, Snoop Dogg and Ted Chung for Snoopadelic Films.

JOHN LEWIS: GOOD TROUBLE, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dawn Porter (TRAPPED, GIDEON’S ARMY), will premiere for television Sunday, Sept. 27 at 9:00pm Eastern and Pacific on CNN. The documentary explores the extraordinary life of the legendary civil rights activist and legislator, the now-late Rep. John R. Lewis. Porter and Laura Michalchyshyn of Trilogy Films, produced the documentary, alongside Erika Alexander and Ben Arnon of Color Farm Media.
The feature was executive produced and financed by CNN Films, AGC Studios, TIME Studios, and JustFilms/Ford Foundation. Magnolia Pictures and Participant originally distributed the film domestically, including to theaters and on demand services. JOHN LEWIS: GOOD TROUBLE was also an official selection of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival.
“It was such an honor to create this film alongside Amy Entelis, Courtney Sexton, and Alex Hannibal, three women I admire so much. Spending a year filming with the Congressman was a thrilling experience that I will always treasure. I am so grateful that he was able to see the film before he passed, and to understand how much he was loved. I hope you will join me and get into ‘Good Trouble’ in his memory,” said director Dawn Porter.
As America’s summer of civil rights protests against police brutality continues, this CNN Films documentary explores Lewis’ life and life’s work of social justice. The primarily cinéma verité film uses contemporary interviews with Lewis’ sisters, son, and brothers; fellow civil rights ‘foot soldiers’ such as Xernona Clayton, Rep. James Clyburn, Rev. James Lawson, and Ambassador Andrew Young; lawmakers and friends Sen. Cory Booker, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, and Rep. James Sensenbrenner; as well as former President Bill and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and many others, to highlight Lewis’s personal milestones, his love of art and higher education, and his inestimable contributions to civil rights.
Rare archival footage from Lewis’ more than 60 years of social activism and legislative action yields new perspectives on historic events. Lewis himself, and others, movingly recount his now-legendary 1965 march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala., for voting rights. The film also reflects on Lewis’ emotional commemoration of the 50th anniversary of that seminal event, accompanied by Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the nation’s first Black president.
“Dawn’s work beautifully illuminates Congressman John Lewis’s exemplary life, his civil rights legacy, and how he continues to inspire,” said Amy Entelis, executive vice president for talent and content development for CNN Worldwide. Entelis and Courtney Sexton, senior vice president for CNN Films, are executive producers for the documentary. “We are deeply appreciative to Rep. Lewis for trusting us to produce this film about his lifelong mission for human dignity for all. It has been an honor,” Entelis said.
Throughout the film, Porter deftly weaves Lewis’s recollections in his own words: his happy rural Alabama childhood, surrounded by a large and loving family, his fateful first meeting with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., his horror at the lynching of Emmett Till that ignited the national conscience, and his accomplished legislative record. Porter also examines Lewis’s contentious political rivalry with fellow civil rights icon Julian Bond, his mentorship of his staff and new Congressional colleagues, and his marriage of partners with his beloved late wife, Lillian Miles Lewis.
Composer and performing artist Tamar-kali (MUDBOUND, SHIRLEY) created a beautiful and evocative original score for the film. Additional executive producers for the documentary are Jeff Skoll and Diane Weyermann for Participant; Dori Begley for Magnolia Pictures; Stuart Ford for AGC Studios; Rachel Traub; and Ian Orefice and Mike Beck for TIME Studios.
During the Sept. 27 premiere on CNN, JOHN LEWIS: Good Trouble will stream live for subscribers via CNNgo (CNN.com/go and via CNNgo apps for Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, Samsung Smart TV, and Android TV) and on the CNN mobile apps for iOS and Android. The film will be available beginning Monday, Sept. 28, on demand via cable/satellite systems, CNNgo platforms, and CNN mobile apps. The film will encore Saturday, Oct. 3 at 9:00pm Eastern and Pacific. Following the availability on CNN, the film will stream via HBO Max, beginning Oct. 27.
