Mobile-only subscription video service Quibi has reportedly picked up an eight season of the police comedy Reno 911. The first episodes of season seven premiered in May and new episodes have premiered most recently about two weeks ago.

The news was disclosed on actor Kerri Kenney's twitter account on Thursday. She plays the character "Trudy Weigel" on the show:

It’s official, friends! Reno 911 is picked up for another season! NEW EPISODES FROM SEASON 7 STREAMING NOW ON @Quibi Season 8 coming soon! #reno911

The show is a spoof of the long-running Fox reality police series Cops, which follows real-life police officers as they perform their daily law enforcement duties. But in the case of Reno 911, the deputies are inept goofballs who use politically incorrect language and swear words.

Reno 911 originally ran on Comedy Central from 2003 to 2009. The show was created by Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant and Kerri Kenney-Silver, who also star in the show.
